Jessica Hill writes and checks the calculators and guides on CalcSolver. Each page explains the formula, walks through one example, and names the mistakes that change the answer.
What She Writes
The guides are written for someone who needs the method, not only the result. A percentage page explains why “percent of,” “percent change,” and “what percent” are three different calculations. A GPA page shows how credits turn letter grades into one average. A geometry page shows the formula and then a triangle you can check by hand.
The calculator sits at the top of the lesson so you can try your own numbers after the example. If you already know the method, the tools directory opens the calculator without the lesson. The guide library is the list of lessons.
How A Page Is Checked
- The formula in the guide is the formula the calculator uses.
- Each calculator is tested against a problem with a known answer before it is published.
- Results are calculated to 12 significant digits and then rounded for display.
- Finance and health tools are marked as estimates for learning, not as advice.
Topics
Jessica covers the math people actually look up: percentages, fractions, algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus, grades, and everyday money estimates. School pages such as GPA and class grade stay separate, because a grade in one class is not the same number as a credit-weighted GPA.
The About page describes the site. This page is about the person who writes it.
What These Pages Are Not
They are not medical advice, a loan offer, or a substitute for a teacher or a textbook. The math runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to an account. CalcSolver is an independent site. It is not affiliated with other websites that use a similar name.
Corrections
If a result or a step looks wrong, send the page address and the numbers you used through the contact page. Confirmed errors are checked against the formula and fixed.
